A little bit about my writing.
My first memories of writing involved a summer day, a hammock and a few sheets of loose-leaf. My mother had told me I needed to read, and I didn't want to so instead I wrote. It was a story about dolphins that had gone missing from a mock SeaWorld and a young girl that made it her mission to find them. Except I never actually got beyond the "dolphins going missing" part. After that point, I hated writing. It was actually the thing that I was worst at in school, up till grade four where we had to write in a journal every few days. I hated it naturally, because fiction is always more interesting than what I ate for dinner the night before. But one day, I wrote a poem and brought it in to show my teacher that I was actually writing something. She cried, showed it to others, they cried and I went to middle school. Though middle school can be said to be the worst years of almost everyone's schooling experience, and that was certainly true for me, I did have three solid years of good English courses, which is where my love of writing really flourished. From there I went through grade nine and ten just fine, then got into advanced courses in grade 11, when I got really serious about writing. November 2015 was when I finished my first novel draft, during NaNoWriMo.
